The Story of Harlan Sanders
Harlan Sanders worked at a gas station in Nicholasville, Kentucky for two years. The Standard Oil Company was forced to close many of its stations during the Great Depression. He decided he would offer other incentives to stop at his little station - like oil checks and free air for tires. When word spread, Sanders' good old country comfort became the main attraction,. So he changed his business's name again, from Sanders' service station and cafe to Sanders' cafe and service station.
