The Collaborative Action Problem in the Republican Party
The same thing is happening now you had a collective action problem republicans after january six we have this clearly transgarcic president who did something unprecedented in american history. We have an opportunity to basically knock him out of politics for the duration if we vote to convict in this impeachment trial but republican office holders could not figure out a way to come together and make that result happen they essentially deferred it. Because of his solid rock solid core of support amongst republicans this essentially gives him a platform by which to make a bid for controlling the party as he's doing right now.
