The History of the Yamnaya

The diet of the Yamnaya would have been based fundamentally on meat and grain. Pottery exists with deposits of grain, evidenced by imprints within the pots. In some of the coagens we can see that wheeled wagons or carts were placed which is quite significant because we don't really have a lot of evidence for wheeled vehicles before this time period. A number of stone axes were discovered in the pick-rays which is not hugely surprising. The stone axe was the multi-purpose tool of choice for all stone age cultures. We can also see bronze daggers which symbolise the transitional status of many near-v eythic societies from the stone age to the bronze
