Xenonauts 2 sort of is the, where the modern for access XCOM is sort of a reinvention of XCOM. The bones are so good there and there just haven't been a lot of games that have successfully recreated it. Once the game desensitizes you to the idea that like every single dead trooper represents sort of massive, a massive failure the minute the game conditions you to have a mission where out of nine soldiers that deployed.
