The Complexity of Honor and Shame in First Corinthians
The phrase in Greek is highly ambiguous, but as you go on, I think it makes better sense. There's no like universal set of agreements in the Greco-Roman Empire around head coverings. So people have different ideas, which is probably why they're arguing about it. But there's a real concern here for social dynamics of honor and shame. And so yeah, Paul wants to deal with that along with the confusion that's going on.
