Two weeks ago, Christianity Today published a story about the handling of some issues related to domestic abuse and sexual abuse at Grace Community Church. This church is pastored by John MacArthur, one of the probably best known evangelical preachers in the United States. Kate Schalnutt: I ended up hearing from eight women at length about their experiences when they went to the church with concerns about abuse in their marriages or towards their children. And these women shared with me a pattern of being told to forgive and return to their husbands, even in these cases of abuse.
