The Other Error of Justice

Religious believers thought that utilitarianism conflicted with a various rules laid down in the bible. And they therefore thought that acts are right or wrong depending on whether those particular acts produced more utility than the alternatives. The other issue about justice, which i think came rather later, was distributive justice,. and the idea that if you maximise happiness, that might be at the cost of extre inequality.
