We Know So Little of the Worlds Below Our Feet
i grew up in coal mining country, and that your father was a lung doctor. He would bring these x rays home of people's lungs,. Hold them up against the window as a light box. And he would just talk about what had happened to the people who were working almost under our feet. The happiest person i knew when i was growing up was a coal miner who was no longer a coal miner, and he taught me how to whistle gas. I think just naming that not something that we even think about, how little we know of the worlds beneath our feet....
