I think the idea of a fairly low subscription price for these applications is fine and I would not be surprised that these prices do not cover Apple's costs but they come closer to covering the cost than a one-time fixed fee probably does. The fact that there's monthly makes it way cheaper for somebody who just needs to edit video three months out of the year than if they had to buy 100 dollar final cut or logic. If you're using Logic or Final Cut for more than four years then not only are you getting your money's worth but that you can probably afford it, he says.
