In the early years of the nazi regime, jewish musical life endured under the shelter of the udushe colturbund. Music continued to be created by jews and others all across the rich many of them interned in the regime's vast system of ghettos or concentration camps. A renowned concert pianist, alice spent two years in the camp, where she performed more than 100 concerts. Here she is speaking to the b b c in 19 93.
