The Hidden State of the Last Token

The only hidden state that contains information about the entire input is the very last token basically. In this case we're not using the outputs at all and we're not having the model to generate anything at all so we are really just using these models as feature extractors. At every location in the context it only sees information from before that token so it doesn't see into the future but this also means that's why we use the last token.
