If i don't live in the united states, then there's a decent chance that I'm breaking fewer laws. Many countries around the world don't have the crazy legal structure that the us Has. So using an offshore, using international diversification and having my banks in in two countries buys me a significant amount of privacy. In some countries, this is simply illegal. You can't pick up your passport for any number at all. But in other countries, you're not allowed to use pre-paid mobile phones with government identification numbers on them. And so it's relatively easy to get a private communications devices that aren't linked to your public ones.
