The Life of Pilsuski

Pilsuski was critical in the push that forced germans and austrians to declare an independent kingdom of poland. He forbade polish troops from swearing a loyalty oath to the central powers, and was promptly arrested and tossed into the magdeburg fortress. But by this point, pilsutski had spent decades in the service of polish independence and polish independence alone. When he returned to warsaw, he enjoyed basically unrivalled popularity. Everybody knew what he had ben doing. And everybody knew what he wanted to do.
