David Frum: I don't think that Plato and Aristotle ever mentioned straight up the transcendentals, these ideas. The seed bed of where like medieval Christian philosophical thought were they derived from was from classical philosophy. He says Christians in our time struggle because we've gone into a moment where we no longer get to define those things so directly anymore. "We have to know God and no self and others and neighbor, not just by truth, but also by beauty and by goodness"
