Hermeneutics and Homiletics in Seminary
In his hermeneutics course, professor asks students to distinguish between homiletics and hermeneutic approaches. "My method for interpreting use of the old and the new starts out with number one: What's the New Testament context?" He says if a writer is trying to persuade readers in Galatia or Ephesus that he should adopt a certain kind of behavior they need to adopt? Or get them to revise a theological idea? So I mean there's more you can ask but there's no doubt about what type of approach we're talking about here.
