Using the Stars as a Navigational Compass
Sailors can use rising and setting guide stars to form this extremely accurate mental compass. Cidereal compass is a view of the night sky that identifies particular rising or setting stars with points on an imagined compass. There's another thing that is a complication with the use of guide stars for navigation, which is the seasonality of guide stars.
