The Power of Photography
I loved dance, classical dance. I used to do some drawing of the classical dancers who work incredibly hard and all through the day. And then I got friendly with two of them. Then I put them in black leotards and put a white stripe across them and down them, but left their face exposed. And then took these low exposures of them dancing. They were absolutely beautiful and quite at times skeletal at times, but they had an incredible three-dimensionality to them. So I carried on and did sculpture. I did sculpture that sort of had a sort of relation to perspective and space and light. But, you know, to do with space and light and I carried on taking
