The Effects of Focus on Time
The past, the present, and the future are in your brain right now. And so I think that that melding of past, present, and future is best facilitated by a kind of unfocused state. Now, unfocused does not imply distraction necessarily. It might imply a place that you enter into in consciousness that allows you to explore something much wider. So when you start focusing, let's just take an example like mindfulness meditation. When you start focusing on the breath, then the mind starts coming up with all these different ideas...
