The Risks of Lithium During Pregnancy

The absolute risk of cardiac malformations is quite low. But the relative risk does seem to be higher than someone not on lithium. You should generally advise them not to breastfeed because it doesn't just cross the placenta, it also crosses into the breast milk. So what about being female? I've heard a little bit about Epstein's abnormality and issues in using lithium during pregnancy.
