The queen had never wanted the death bed scene that was now to begin in osborne. The kaiser, with his prussian forthrightness, made sure that he was at the centre of affairs. He saw himself as her rightful successor, not to the throne of england,. But just as as the most senior royal in europe, he pushed himself to the front. And there was a little bit of elbowing for space to get close to her and she finally died.
