Why Should a Person Defer?

When you're people pleasing, you want to feel good about yourself. You want to be looked at as good and right in their eyes. Paul's not interested in that. He wants to please everyone for their good. So why should a person defer? There are lots of things I know I should do but I don't. And this is simple. True freedom is freedom to love another person. If you can only love yourself, you're not free. That's Bible logic. That's gospel logic. To build them up. There's great joy in this.
