René Descartes said, I think therefore I am. He says this sort of to help him in a crisis of faith and somehow that assisted him through it. This way of thinking has taken God away from the center of reality and placed my own consciousness at the center ofreality. If you want to be a law unto yourself, you're now binding yourself to something that cannot save you. It's simply going to make matters worse either for you or for the people around you.
