The Limits of Time
The idea of anything moving across a diagram such as figure 9.4 in which time is already represented is simply a mistake, says David Wheeler. At each instant, the bit has a value one in a certain proportion of universes and zero in another. And this explains how you get from the zero to one in a continuous way, because the proportion of universes are changing over time continuously. To get from n equals two to n equals one or whatever, quantum state to whatever other quantum state, the transition that happens is continuous across the multiverses but you don't see that. There is movement through space, even if you do not experience it.
