Liberalism is romanticism. The romantic believes that the world needs to be ordered around his fantasies and everybody has to accommodate those. Liberalism does, which is live and let live, but we're also going to erect a clear distinction between the public and private spheres. We have to nail down what people actually do and don't have a right to.
