How to Navigate the Territory of Learning Without Appropriation
There are many questions coming in on comments and on the Q&A which circle the question of anxiety on the part of non-indigenous people at learning from indigenous cultures. Teresa for example asked how can we first generation immigrants, refugees, settlers, avoid imposter syndrome in our new homeland scapes. I think one of the ways to navigate that territory of learning without appropriating comes in the words of truth and reconciliation. You tell the truth about that and you bring it to the surface, you own that truth and only then can reconciliation happen.
