Do You Think Moral Philosophy Can Help Feminists?
Feminists who aren't sex workers are pulled towards using the law as a symbolic way of expressing their horror at the fact of sex work. But they wield the law in this symbolic way, with its symbolic satisfactions, at the expense of the women who actually sell sex. So one of the things i try to encourage in general, when we're thinking about how to use the law as feminists, is to step away from these questions of the symbolic and the expressive and towards the real right.
