The Role of Chinese Diasporic Christian Communities in American Political History
I think I want to answer this by way of some of the methodological states we had a special issue. Jane and I in our conversations about conservatives were really also concerned about what it means to write an Asian American political history. And so thinking about, and I'm thinking about the role of other sort of Chinese diasporic Christian communities. It was not a coincidence that so many Chinese Americans in diaspora associate American-Chineseness with those specific church spaces. That myself in the Filipino-Toronto community associated being Filipino with those spaces because they were spectacles,. Not just Christianity and political life, but of what it Means to be part of your racial group.
