The Path of the Israelites Through the Wilderness

This section of chapter nine is like previewing and setting up our expectations for how it is that Israel is going to pass through the wilderness. Seven times you probably heard this as Jim was reading it, You have the spread reader Jim. He really is right. Seven times at the command of the Lord. So clearly Moses is highlighting that as central. And then I think part of that package for focusing on Israel's obedience is really in the first 10 chapters. What we see is Israel being obedient. But that picture is going to change very starkly in chapter 11.
