Sicario was shot in 90s, so I couldn't wait to bust into cinema with Denis. The edit is all about just always managing that space where you are either in sync with the audience or slightly ahead of them in terms of delivering the story. Sometimes it's just 12 frames, but it makes the difference between losing somebody and keeping them with you. We were told to remove a pair of porno twins in a poem because 50% of 18 to 24-year-olds didn't like them.
