I'm a big fan of gorilla customer development, which is just getting out of your office and talking to people. It's funny because it's really scary for people if they're doing it for the first time, but it's generally pretty fun. I've definitely had people walk away from me and think I'm a telemarketer, but usually you can find people pretty fast. So that's good. And if you do get some pushback, you have enough experience to defend those decisions in a tactful way,. Probably using data, using user tests. Those are, those are really important too.
Alexa Roman motivates us to prove the value of design and contribute to it every single day. She encourages us to always be learning new things since designers work across many different fields. She inspires us to get more excited about analytics and measuring our designs. She also challenges us to think about what we want on our tombstones...while we’re still this side up.
