In a crisis like we're in now, it's not to be able to big titles to step up. Who can handle it? In Goldman Sachs, we had Lloyd Blankstein stepped up brilliantly as to Jamie Diamond during the crisis. One of them stepped up and really became Lloyd's pot partner and did every the other one would not come into the office. He was so traumatized. And he just disappeared on off on his own. This is where I think Jim Collins actually hit it dead on with the Stockdale paradox: You need something to look forward to and some motivation, but also acknowledge the brutal reality.
