The Importance of Decodable Texts in Teaching

A lot of balance letters to teachers I include my former self were reluctant to use decodable books because they just don't say very much. But nowadays there really is no excuse because there's so many good books out there. Research that we do have points to children potentially being more accurate and fluent in decodable texts. This is a skill that develops over time but that they are able to recognize words more accurately.
