The Value System of Natural Selection
Buddhist thinkers picked up on the idea that our perceptions are shaped and pervaded by feeling. Once you know they evolved, you realize that what feelings are are our judgments. They are codes for judgments that natural selection wants us to make. That is the value system of natural selection. And so once you understand that A, feelings in these super subtle ways, pervade thought, A, and B, it does not deserve our respect.
