Three of the Strangest Facts About Harrods

Harrods had previously held something called a royal warrant. A royal warrant means that you have the right to provide goods or services to the royal family. Al-Fayed, furious with the royal family after losing his son, took down the royal warrants from the department store. He later revealed that he had burnt them, he had destroyed the royal warrants. In 2010, al-Fayed decided that enough was enough and bought Harrods for £1.5 billion.
