Are You Sure That This Was in the Original?
By the third century, there were two different versions of this that kind of circulated. One was from Papius, which wasn't exactly the same story. And then there was another one that Luke had access to. So, it's a complicated issue and if you're confused by it, I'm sure your listeners are too. It does occur in some manuscripts of Luke later on, but in a truncated version, not in the exact version.
