The Paraclete

In John's gospel during the farewell discourse, Christ refers to him as paraclete. This is often translated as counselor, but the better expression in English is comforter. Jesus says the other comforter because they are inseparable. The tremendous consolation, the sharing of lives and the flow of power inherent in Christ are poured out throughout history.
