The Case of Shivriela and Kana-Han
The two former judges were hit with federal indictment charges that included racketeering, fraud, money laundering, extortion, bribery, and federal tax violations. Shivriela Kana-han was found guilty on 12 of the 39 charges after 11 days of testimony and a tidal wave of evidence. In 2011, almost a decade after the scam began, he finally faced a trial for his atrocious actions. For Shavarella, though, it's that he wasn't going down without a fight so he decided to actually plead not guilty.
