Ben Bender, age 34 of Lingbob, was fined 120 pounds and banned from driving for 17 months. Don Fleming aged 58 found guilty of damaging a sign at Halifax Crown Court. Ben's uncle Jeff Smith gave mitigation saying the defendant wasn't aware of the unusual legislation but accepted ignorance of the law is not an excuse.
