There have been some studies showing a benefit, and perhaps there is a group of patients that actually benefits from having positive and expiratory pressure. So if you see a waveform where the oscillations are not there, and they should be, like what you're expecting shouldn't look normal, it should look like a very different waveform during cardiac arrest. If it looks normal, there's no oscillations, that might be an indication to add peep to the mix.
