The Story of My Grandpa
The family on my mom's side is as native to America as the missions that line the Pacific coast. Grandpa's family lived off on a ranch too far off the grid to have electricity. He called his mother a pioneer woman. The farm is where I first noticed the hardships of the world, observing diligent work from immigrant field workers. Most of all, the farm was a place to belong to each other.
