The Story of Anna Crawley
Anna Crawley ran a foster home in about 1915. This is when she started to care for or she adopted Francis Crawley. He was thought to be about three years old at the time and he was also called John F. Flood while living there. Anna had four out of five kids that were her own. It would have been five of her own, but one died a few months after birth. Her only son, John, was considered a troublemaker from a young age before Francis was even born. At this time, 12 year old John Crawley and his only son by birth was listed as living in the New York Catholic Protector.
