Every generation wants to push. They push the rules of the previous generation. As they do that, balances that made earlier music work don't work anymore. Mozart and Haydn don't work the same way because they're set up on these harmonic balances. And that falls apart. So you've got great music, but you know, Beethoven is really interesting.
