The Church Is a First Half of Life Institution
A richard rore was a quoted not too long ago on a podcast as saying, there's probably no church that has less of a clue about the second half of life than the mormons. Institutions and lower levels of spiritual development are certainty driven. They're often exclusionary, based on right belief. In other words, they welcome you in, but they want you to believe the way they do. Their ideas of sanctification are based on the earthly penal system and their reciprocity based.
