Introduction

The tulip was a flower brought to the Netherlands at the end of the 16th century. The event known as tulip mania only lasted a little more than three years before it crashed in 1637. But centuries later and across the Atlantic, a new fad would rage in America. Although no one went looking for this particular thing, it was vastly more terrifying than a tulip bulb because of one special detail. This thing came looking for us. It was the sort of scene that you'd expect from a horror film. Two lovers were parked between the river and the woods in a boat ramp parking lot. I'm Aaron Mankey, and this is lore.
