I think if we could solve this in the material world, we would have. But fundamentally, there needs to be a shift in terms of our understanding of the why. It's not just about extending the life of the natural resources so that we can hedonistically consume and have them run out a few generations later. We actually need to consider each unborn child of each species as our own. And when we do that, the philosophical approach to resource, to environment shifts in a way that's much more sustainable than these sort of external metrics and impositions of policy.
