Is the Three Streams Model a Utilitarian Mechanism?
One of my concerns about the three streams model is i think it favors s in some way, utility over theology. It says, how do we keep a desperate group of christians who happen to be under the same label together without having them hive off and break apart? We don't want to create an easy synthesis where there simply isn't one. My fear of saying that anglicanism has as its chief asset ambig ity actually does a great disservice to our tradition. Our greatest asset is the gospel, not ambiguity.
