Two thirds of the mass GCSE is calculated based on times tables. Kids have had potentially like 16 years of school and then they still don't know them. If we're teaching a topic and calculate for virtually everything especially in year 10 to 11 if they're still weak with the tables, it's not going to suddenly my magical learning in the last few months.
