Why Parents Don't Want Their Children to Be Abducted

On september first of 19 39, when the operation started, britain wasn't even at war. The government ordered all host families in evacuation towns and villages to host at least one evacue. There was little to no screening as to the host's character or suitability. By januaryof 19 forty, almost 60 % of the children who had been evacuated had returned home. But they returned just as the german bombs started to fall.19 40 would become known as the year of the blitz.
