Welcome Me to the Kingdom

Welcome me to the kingdom features short stories set across temples, slums and gated estates of late 20th century Bangkok. The stories begin in the 1980s when drought has overtaken the countryside and poor farmers are migrating to the city in mass. A lot of celebrity culture in Thailand is around sort of like half white, half Thai people, including the beauty pageants,. And so I think that, yeah, it's this sort of porous boundary and I get to cross back and forth.
