Nicholas: I think that your intuition on this is absolutely right that we shouldn't read it as a traditional queen of cups image. Part of the concept of inner child work is this idea that we all have an inner version of ourselves which is a child like our own self in child form which got stuck due to needs that were not met. The way we sort of see like mothers who have postpartum depression sort of like have this really like flat affect and don't engage with their kids, this image to me isn't necessarily about like the mother but about one's process of reparenting oneself.
